With Hellmann Worldwide Logistics, BlueBoxSystems was able to win one of the largest logistics companies in the world for its solutions. Together, Hellmann SmartAir! was developed, which is completely based on BlueBoxAir. Thus, much of the logistics know-how of the full-service provider could flow into the BlueBoxSystems product. Hellmann Worldwide Logistics, with over 10,000 employees and a 150-year history, is one of the world’s central logistics companies. It is therefore no wonder that they were also entrusted with the transport of the COVID-19 vaccine at the end of 2020. From its headquarters in Osnabrück, Hellmann is also a pioneer in logistics digitalization. In addition to “Smart Ocean”, a tracking tool specifically for ocean freight, and “Smart Visibility”, an innovative real-time tracking tool that provides information on temperature, incidence of light and vibrations, among other things, along the entire supply chain in addition to the current shipment position, SmartAir! is now expanding the tracking portfolio to include air freight. The parent company of BlueBoxSystems, Bonn-based BusinessCode, knows Hellmann very well. Together with them, the proprietary product Smart Ocean was developed at the beginning of 2020. It was possible to build on this good cooperation with BlueBoxSystems, as both companies are still closely interlinked. Thus, another “Smart product” could be developed for Hellmann in a short time on the basis of BlueBoxAir. The regular and open exchange is to be emphasized. Hellmann was able to identify many of its customers’ needs and incorporate this expertise into the development. This resulted in a tailor-made solution – not just for Hellmann, but rather for its customers. SmartAir! offers fundamentally the same functionalities as BlueBoxAir. However, as a separate B2B solution, fully integrated into Hellmann logistics, it offers specific advantages for Hellmann and its customers. For example, Hellmann can provide its customers with access in less than 24 hours, enabling them to track their air freight shipments carried out by Hellmann. Through the reporting and analysis possibilities, Hellmann also offers a transparency of the designed supply chains that is unparalleled on the market. “The project was an absolute win-win situation!
